Kyoto Nightlife

After leaving Nijo Castle, it was time to head to our hotel for the night. Many of the rooms required you to sleep on the floor, but my roommate and I were lucky enough to get a room with beds! And they were sooooo comfy! The rooms were pretty much ridiculously nice.

The room was pretty much like 2 rooms in 1. This was the little room with a table, closet, and TV.  I was watching a Japanese drama. Sadly, I could not understand any of it. It was no Korean drama...

Comfy beds!

After we checked in, it was time to have a traditional style Japanese dinner at the hotel! We were given traditional clothes to wear as well.

There were so many different things to eat! And they kept bringing us more and more and more food!

After dinner, it was time to hit the town. Our tour guide, Gucci, took us to the district where geishas (or geikos) are known to been seen. We walked up and down many streets, looking at all of the little shops and restaurants, but we had no luck in seeing any.

One of the main streets.

Shout-out to Dad!

Subway Station.

This guy was awesome! He was juggling/rolling/making magic with these crystal ball-looking things. It was pretty legit.

Slot machines!

A little piece of America.
To end the night, a group of us went to go get some fro-yo! But, guess what we saw on the way there??

Geishas!!!! There were 2 of them getting into a couple of cars. These are the best pictures I could get of them. They were across the street and cars kept blocking my view.

You can see the one on the left pretty well. The other one is in the middle walking toward her.

You can barely see, but she is in the front seat of the car in this one.
It was interesting because even Japanese people were pulling out their cameras to take pictures of them. I guess it's pretty rare to see them.

The place was called Sno:la.

It was delicious, but quite expensive. This cost me about $8. Japan in general was pretty expensive.

On to day 2!
