Lotte World Galore!

Why hello, Lotte World! For those of  you who have never heard of Lotte or what they are, they are a large Japanese-Korean conglomerate that basically owns the food and shopping industry over here. Much of the food that I buy at convenience stores is from Lotte. There is also a Lotte Mart, which is a supermarket plus more, and Lotte World, which is often referred to as Korea's Disneyland. It is not at all as big as Disneyland or Disneyworld, but it was an awful lot of fun! Part of it is inside underground and some of it is outside. I went with other international students through Yonsei Global and 2 Korean student mentors.

We took the subway to Lotte World and entered the park from underground. Notice the similarities to Disney?

It looked like Disneyland! This is what you first see when you walk to the outdoor part.

The "Gyro Drop." One of the best rides of the day. You sit in a circle around the tower and slowly spin while it takes you to the top. Then it stops at the top, and after a few seconds, shoots you to the ground!
Waiting in line for the Gyro Drop!

This ride was called Atlantis. It was the first roller coaster we went on. Super fun!

Loading zone for Atlantis.

Waiting in line for Atlantis. The lines weren't very long that day because it was still during Chuseok break. This picture was taken by one of our Korean mentors.

Snack time! Roast squid! At first I was repulsed, but then it started to grow on me.

Waikiki Wave. It was kind of fun, but not very thrilling.

Random girls marching band.

Comet Express! Another underground roller coaster. Your seats spin around and it's like you are flying through outer space!

Here comes our spaceship!

Bungee Drop. Similar to Gyro Drop but not as tall.

Indoors.

Hot air balloons!

Merry go round time!

We had to get signature Lotte World bow and ear headbands :)

Haha. The entrance to a big ship ride.

So much fun!

A night performance.

Outside walkway at night.

Castle at night.

Best ride that we went on. It holds about 40 people in a circle around the main pole. You are spun in a circle while swinging back and forth. You go all the way perpendicular to the ground! On one side you are over water and the other you are over the Atlantis roller coaster. BY FAR, THE BEST RIDE. It's even more fun at night because you can see all of the pretty lights of the park and the city.

I left my mark on the wall of the entrance to the French Revolution (indoor roller coaster that goes throughout the inside of the park). It goes upside down. One of the better roller coasters that we went on. There is graffiti seriously EVERYWHERE in the park. Either people are saying who they love or are writing band's names everywhere.

Bumper cars!

Last ride of the night. Log flume.

We will definitely be going to Lotte World again! I want to go during the winter because there is also an indoor ice rink there!

안영!
